Changes to Shannondoc services in North, West and East Clare come into effect this evening, despite calls for an eleventh hour re-think.

The out-of-hours GP service in Kilrush + Ennistymon will re-locate to Miltown Malbay on weekdays, while the Killaloe centre will be serviced by a mobile doctor.
A video link service is also planned for Kilrush.
At a public meeting in the town on Friday night, Shannondoc was asked to defer the changes for a month as TDs look to change taxation laws which are making it more difficult to hire locums – that call is being taken under consideration.
However, Kilrush Independent Councillor Ian Lynch is not optimistic that there will be a late reprieve.
