Shannon Airport has welcomed its sixth millionth passenger since it became independent.

Loughrea man Emmet Keary had the honour of being the milestone passenger and was presented with two Aer Lingus flight tickets to New York as a result.
Passenger numbers have grown by over 25% at Shannon since it broke free from the Dublin Airport Authority at the beginning of 2013.
