Shannon Road Reopens Following Serious Collision

The Road at Purcell Park in Shannon, which had been closed after a serious road traffic incident yesterday has reopened to traffic.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators completed a technical examination of the scene this afternoon following a serious incident in which a 10 Year-Old boy was struck by a vehicle.

The child was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick where he received treatment for serious injuries,  but was subsequently transferred to Temple Street Hospital in Dublin, where he remains in a critical condition.
