A Shannon recruitment agency fears accommodation shortages in Ireland could prevent a potential economic boom in the country.

It follows the publication of a new global survey by Morgan McKinley which has found that 80% of Irish organisations have faced difficulties in recruiting staff and retaining existing employees in the past year.

Meanwhile, the latest quarterly report from the agency revealed there was a 17% drop in job opportunities in Ireland in September of this year.

Director and Co-Founder of CareerWise Recruitment in Shannon, Joe Robbins, says while Ireland should be a prime investment location for US multinational companies, it’s being held back by insufficent availability of accommodation for workers.
