Shannon Recruitment Agency Criticises ‘Outdated’ Yearly Performance Reviews

A Shannon recruitment agent has criticised the practice of ‘outdated’ yearly performance appraisals within the workplace.

It comes as new research from Textio shows that 75% of women are labelled emotional in workplace performance reviews, while 56% were also described as being unlikeable.

Of the 25,000 reviews studied, less than one in five men were attributed with the same characteristics, with just 11% of men deemed to be emotional in the workplace.

Director and founder of Career Wise Recruitment in Shannon, Joe Robbins claims performance reviews should be more frequent and informal, while centring on ability rather than personality.
