Shannon Secretary of Active Retire Ireland Urges Government to Clarify Guidelines for Social Activities

The Shannon based Secretary of Active Retirement Ireland says it’s time for the Government to produce clear guidelines on how older people across the county can return to indoor social clubs.

Minister for Older People Mary Butler has called for restrictions affecting activities run with older citizens in mind to be lifted in September, which would allow groups such as Men’s Shed’s and Irish Countrywomen’s Associations to return to indoor meetings.

Active Retirement Ireland is a voluntary organisation for older people with a national membership of over 25,000 people and over 550 local associations.
