Shannon Mother Says Her Four-Year Old “Shaken” After Near Miss With Speeding Motorist

A Shannon mother claims her four-year-old has been left “shaken” after almost being hit by a car following repeated incidents of dangerous driving.

Paula Daly and her family were attempting to cross the road at the pedestrian crossing between Dunnes Stores and Rossbracken in Shannon when a white Volkswagen Golf broke a red light and sped past them.

It’s claimed the motorist was travelling well in excess of the speed limit, had an N plate and didn’t have a licence plate.

Paula says the way in which she and her family go about crossing the road will have to change going forward as it’s clear some drivers “don’t care” about pedestrian safety.
