Shannon Management Criticised After Airport Downgrading

A Limerick Senator claims management at Shannon Airport has no “credible vision” for its future.

It follows a downgrading of the airport’s status from category nine to a category seven facility for part of the year.

Unions are in discussions with staff about how to respond to the new status of the airport – though the Transport Minister maintains it’s of strategic importance to the region.

However, Sinn Féin Senator Paul Gavan believes the downgrading is a sign management want to cut jobs:
