Shannon Should Be Integrated Into State Airports Authority – Crowe

Clare’s Fianna Fail TD believes integrating Shannon Airport into a State Airports Authority is vital in order to keep it sustainable in the long term.

The Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport has published its report on issues affecting the aviation industry today which contains twenty recommendations.

Among them is to fully implement all recommendations from last summer’s Aviation Taskforce Report, to finalise a new Regional Airports Programme and establish a body encompassing Shannon, Cork and Dublin airports under the umbrella of a parent state company.

Deputy Cathal Crowe says that an unbiased national authority outside of the DAA is needed to establish Shannon’s future.
