Clare’s International airport has received global recognition at an awards ceremony in the US.

The World Routes Awards for airport marketing are voted on by airlines, and saw Shannon scoop the top worldwide honour for an airport of it’s size.
The award recognises the success of the airport’s marketing programme since it’s separation from the DAA and its success in kick-starting the recovery in passenger numbers.
Shannon was the only airport in the UK and Ireland to have made the shortlist in the event, in what officials there have described as ‘the Oscars of the aviation industry.’
