Shannon Heritage Workers Want Clarity On Group’s ‘Contesting’ Of Funding Required For Council Transfer

Workers at Clare’s Shannon Heritage sites are calling for clarity, after it emerged the Shannon Airport Group ‘contests’ the amount of funding requires for the facilities to be transferred to the local authority.

A briefing to the Taoiseach’s office on the matter obtained by Clare FM shows the Department of Transport is also in disagreement with Clare County Council over what the final figure should be.

Workers have been told the sites will be closed for three days a week between January and March, with the matter is set to be discussed again at this afternoon’s meeting of the Council’s Rural Strategic Policy Committee.
