Shannon Heritage workers say they’re ‘shocked, saddened and disappointed’ at a breakdown in talks aimed at transferring the sites’ management to the local authority.
Clare County Council’s said it ‘cannot proceed’ with the proposed takeover of Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, Knappogue Castle and Craggaunowen without what it describes as ‘real and meaningful’ support from Government.

The matter is set to dominate proceedings at today’s full meeting of Clare County Council.
