Shannon Heritage Employees Say They’re ‘In The Dark’ About Temporary Closure Proposals

Cabinet Ministers are to set to discuss how to avert the potential temporary closure of Shannon Heritage sites early next year.

Workers at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and King John’s Castle have been told the facilities will be not be open to the public in early 2022 as the reponsibility for them passes over to Clare County Council.

Taoiseach Micheal Martin in the Dail that the move would be ‘unthinkable’ and that he will discuss the situation with relevant Ministers in the coming weeks.
