A meeting between Shannon Group and Clare’s elected representatives is taking place this afternoon, to discuss the future of Shannon Airport.
Serious concern has been expressed by a number of councillors, Oireachtas members and tourism operators after it emerged Shannon’s passengers are falling, despite growth at both Dublin and Cork Airports.
There were calls for last week’s monthly council meeting to be stood down to discuss the future of the Midwest facility but it was later confirmed that acting CEO of Shannon Group Mary Considine would meet with the councillors today.
