Shannon Group Is Formally Born

The new Shannon Group, which now controls of the Airport and Shannon Development, has formally come into being.

This is the final step in a long-running process that has seen an overhaul of how the Airport and its surrounding landbank are run.

A 10% growth in passenger numbers is forecast for Shannon this year, and Transport Minister Paschal Donohue says the changes represent a new beginning.

He has also appointed the board of the new Shannon Group – they are the same group who have overseen the turn-around at Shannnon since it's separation from the DAA with Rose Hynes as Chairman and Neil Pakey as Chief Executive.
