Among the high level events attended by Chairman Rose Hynes yesterday was the St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast at Vice President Joe Biden’s residence, at which the US Vice President singled out Shannon for special attention in his address.

She also attended the New York Stock Exchange St. Patrick’s Day Bell Ringing event with a host of Irish and US business leaders, and the official St Patrick’s Day Reception with US President Barak Obama in the White House.

She's also due to attend an Ireland Funds event in Washington that will honour high-level Irish-American politicians, and the Irish Ambassador’s Business Leaders’ Lunch in Washington.

Shannon Group Chief Commercial Officer, Andrew Murphy, meanwhile, will address the Ireland-U.S. Council’s annual St Patrick’s lunch at the Metorpolitan club in New York – one of the key Irish American gatherings over the festivities.

While, Shannon Group Head of Marketing Marie Slattery will also attend events in Boston.

It's hoped the events will promote the region for inward investment and tourism.
