A long-serving employee of a prominent Shannon firm says he’s “embarrassed” but “chuffed” to be leading the town’s St Patrick’s Day Parade this year.
Ei Electronics Purchasing Manager Gerry Murphy has been named the Grand Marshal for Shannon’s procession next week, having first joined the company’s ranks in 1972.

The events will get underway at the Wetlands on Tuesday at 2:30pm and will be followed by entertainment at the Town Centre.
Gerry says it will be a proud day for his family.
