A Shannon GP says the vaccination of those aged 12 to 15 against Covid-19 next month will make the return to school much safer.

The vaccine portal for 12 to 15 year olds is likely to open next week after Cabinet approved using vaccines on those age cohorts, following a reccommendation from the National Immunisation Advisory Committee.

The vaccine rollout is picking up pace with registration opening for 16 and 17 year olds yesterday, and walk-in clinics due to open this bank holiday weekend.
