The initiative will begin tomorrow, and run for around ten days. People in and around the town are being asked to leave non-perisahable food and non-prescription medication to the collection point at the Skycourt Shopping Centre.
It comes as aid agencies in the Philippines say the situation a week on from the storm is "bleak".
Irish charities on the ground say they’re struggling to distribute aid because supply routes and communications networks are still down.
