The Government is set to sign off on a memo to approve the establishment of the Shannon Estuary Economic Taskforce.
The measure, which was promised in the Programme for Government, is set to examine ways to develop the economic potential of Clare and other Western counties.

The Taskforce is assess the strategic strengths and comparative advantages of the Shannon Estuary and scope out potential opportunities for the area with the view to job creation.
It is expected that the Group will provide a final report by October of this year.
