The Chairman of the Shannon Municipal District is standing by his decision to back the development of a crematorium in the town.
Councillor Cathal Crowe says he has weighed up the concerns of local residents and carried out independent research into similar facilities in Ireland and remains convinced the crematorium will benefit the area in the long run.
