Shannon Town Councillor Mike McKee has confirmed he’s retiring from local politics ahead of the upcoming elections.
The Independent Councillor, who formerly represented Sinn Fein, has been an elected public representative in Shannon since 1983, first in the Town Commissioners and later as part of Shannon Town Council, where he became the first Mayor of Shannon in 2002.

Councillor McKee has thanked the people of Shannon who supported him throughout his career, as well as his fellow councillors, the Town Manager and Town Clerk.
