A South Clare Councillor is hoping to regain a seat in the Seanad following an eight-year hiatus.
Shannon Fine Gael Councillor Tony Mulcahy only returned to political life this year after winning a seat on Clare County Council in June’s local elections – less than six months ago.

He previously served on the Labour Panel in the upper house of the Oireachtas from 2011 to 2016 and acted as his party’s spokesperson on Communications, Energy and Natural Resources before losing his seat.
Mulcahy will now run for a seat on the Industrial and Commercial panel when the election takes place over the 29th and 30th of next month.
