A Shannon woman living with a serious lung disease believes her condition is getting progressively worse because of an ongoing mould problem in her home.
Sue Egan is just one of a number of residents of the Cúl na Gréine estate in the industrial town whose house has been blighted by extremed dampness in recent years, leading to mould growth and structural cracks in some cases.
After raising the issue at a recent meeting of local representatives, Shannon Fine Gael Councillor Tony Mulcahy was told to provide the affected house numbers to a Senior Engineer, after which the matter will be investigated.
Sue, who suffers from COPD, says all she wants is for Clare County Council to listen to her and fix the problem.
