A Shannon-based company has signed a ten million euro contract with a Chinese distributor.
The IDA-backed deal will see Reagecon products distributed within the Chinese market over the next five years and has been announced during a trade deal to the country.
Reagecon is the world’s largest producer of physical and chemical standards.
The deal, which has been announced at the world’s largest trade exhibition in Shanghai, will see Beijing Thorigin, distributing Reagecon’s products within the Chinese market, for the next five years.
All of the products will be produced in Shannon, with customer support supplied by Reagecon’s Shanghai sales office.
The contract covers Reagecon’s existing portfolio, as well as several new suites of other recently launched products.
These will be targeted at the life sciences, environmental and geology markets.
This brings the total number of products developed by Reagecon’s workforce of 100 people at its Shannon facility to almost 10,000.
Three further deals have also been announced by Irish IDA-backed companies who are on a trade mission in China this week
