The college says its gone to great lengths over the last 20 years to ensure good options for students in the region and that work will continue with the support of the Accommodation Advisory Service in University of Galway.

It’s planning a leaflet drop to around 17,000 homes in the coming weeks with advice on the Government’s tax-free rent-a-room scheme, as well as an information evening for local householders and landlords to source new accommodation.

Shannon Banks Sinn Fein Councillor James Ryan, who’s been working with those affected says a significant number are now in panic-mode, with only a few months to go to the new semester.
