Planning permission has been granted for a cinema in Shannon.
Clare County Council has given the go-ahead for the development at the Skycourt Shopping Centre, subject to a number of conditions.
Managment at the Skycourt Shopping centre in Shannon lodged a planning application in March for a four screen cinema in the old food court.
The proposed development includes a large 210 seater, one 90 seater and two 50 seater auditoriums.
Clare County Council has now given the green light for the project, subject to a number of conditions, including that cinema operating times will be between 1.30pm and midnight on weekdays and between 10am and midnight at weekends.
Management have previously expressed hopes that construction of the new cinema could begin by September or October of this year.
