This evening families are encouraged to bask in the festive cheer as the Christmas lights will be turned on at Shannon Town Park.
Festivities get underway at 5:30pm where there will be music from DJ Chris Walshe, carol singing from Shannon Gospel Choir and a special visit by Santa and Mrs Claus.

The ceremony for switching on the lights in the Town Park will follow on from that at 6pm, with Shannon MD Cathaoirleach Pat O’Gorman having the honour of lighting up the town.
He says the event is a great way to kick off the festive cheer around Shannon in the run up to Christmas.
