Shannon Chamber is seeking clarity from the Department of Agriculture in relation to the recent decision to transfer the customs check on Agri-food products from Shannon Airport to Dublin Airport.
The change came into effect in September and means that non-EU goods destined for Shannon must be separated at Dublin Airport, with non-agri items able to under customs checks in Shannon, but agri-food goods remaining in Dublin to be processed.
This is in contraditction to the practice which has remained in operation since Ireland joined the EU, which allowed Shannon Airport to conduct the border custom post controls on all goods.
The President of Shannon Chamber, Eoin Gavin, wants to see the change reversed immediately.
