Shannon Chamber Fears One Shannon Hub’s “Non-Delivery” If Local Representatives Are In Disagreement

Shannon Chamber insists local representatives must be in agreement regarding the One Shannon Hub to prevent the “non-delivery” of the facility.

It follows concerns raised by a number of councillors in the Shannon region in relation to the use of public funding for the multi-functional building, the site of which is not owned by the local authority but rather is on a 999-year lease.

Clare County Council is expected to lodge a formal funding application for the project to the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage under the Urban Regeneration Development Grant in late 2023 or early 2024.

Shannon Chamber CEO Helen Downes says while it is crucial that councillors are on the same page, the focus is on securing funding for the facility.
