Shannon Chamber President Calls For Urgent Action On Clare Renewable Energy Projects

The government is being called upon to immediately expediate the development of renewable energy in the Shannon Estuary.

In June, a report compiled by an independent taskforce found that the region had the potential to harvest 30 GW (Gigga-Watts) of offshore green electricity by 2050.

 

The Shannon Chamber of Commerce believes that to achieve this, the state must urgently zone designated Atlantic Waters for development and include a 400MW floating wind demonstrator in the schedule of Renewable Energy Support Scheme.
