Shannon Based DAA Workers To Share In Lump Sum Payout

Thirty-two Shannon-based workers for the DAA are to share a payout worth nearly a quarter of a million euro.

The Irish Examiner reports that the Labour Court has recommended that the staff be paid €7500 euro each in staged payments as compensation as they move premises.

The workers are moving from the Airport to a new base in Castletroy, and the DAA had proposed a lump sum for those facing longer commutes, and other concessions.

However, the Labour Court has ruled that payments should be made to all staff after trade union SIPTU had argued that they would lose out on perks such as duty free access and access to staff travel.
