Sinn Fein members have selected teacher and artist James Ryan to take the Council seat vacated by Donna McGettigan following the recent General Election.
The Shannon Banks native was a candidate in the local elections in the Shannon Electoral Area, earlier this year.

The father-of-two volunteers with community groups, teaching woodwork and art.
He also established the Tidy Towns group in the Shannon Banks, Westbury and Carraig Midhe area and recently founded a youth club there.
James Ryan will be officially co-opted to the local authority at a special meeting of Clare County Council next week.
