The chairman of the Shannon Airport Authority says she is not surprised that the Airport is on track to break even this year.

As part of the separation from the DAA, Shannon was relieved of an estimated 100 million euro debt and Transport Minister Leo Varadkar has said that he expected it would take three years before Clare’s international airport was no longer loss-making.
He’s described the expected financial return for 2013 as a major achievement, though Rose Hynes of the Shannon Airport Authority says she’s not surprised.
