Shannon Airport has welcomed the USA Walker Cup team, who have arrived from Newark ahead of this weekend’s tournament at Lahinch Golf Club in County Clare.
It’s the first of two major golfing events on Shannon’s doorstep this month, with the Amgen Irish Open taking place in Doonbeg from September 9th to 13th.

The Shannon Airport Group says almost 40 golf courses are within a 90-minute drive, making Shannon a key gateway for golf tourism in the region.
It says strong transatlantic connectivity, including flights to four US cities, will help support continued growth in golf tourism across the West of Ireland.
