Over 100 photographs captivating images that powerfully narrate Ireland’s story throughout 2025 are being showcased at Shannon Airport.
The AIB Press Photographer of the Year Awards 2026 exhibition will be on display at the Clare base for the next fortnight.
Central to the exhibition is the work of Mark Condren who was crowned Press Photographer of the Year.
It’s the Corkman’s record seventh time to pick up the accolade, with his most recent award coming back in 2020.
The collection includes a range of images from Catherine Connolly and Micheál Martin following their respective elections as Taoiseach and President of Ireland, to three girls sunbathing at Sandymount Strand.
Mark says some of his best shots happen in the spur of the moment.
The exhibition is located in the check-in area of the airport and will be open to visitors until September 14th.
The collection includes the work of some of the best Clare photographers such as Eamon Ward and John Kelly.
Images of the county’s landscape such as Miltown Malbay during the Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy are also included, while a photo of the funeral procession for Barefield native Vanessa Whyte and her children, taken by Liam McBurney ranked fifth in the news category.
Shannon Airport Director, Niall Kearns, says it’s important to include images from around the county in an exhibition that will enhance the passenger experience.
