Shannon Airport says it's on course to record an increase in passenger numbers this year, despite a fall in the number of services.
The number of commercial flights at Shannon has fallen 7% so far this year, and was down 20% last month according to figure from the Irish Aviation Authority.
The Airport says much of this is due to the withdrawal of Stobart Air's flights to the UK, but that this has been offset with the introduction of a larger Ryanair aircraft on flights to Manchester.
Officials predict a 6% increase in overall capacity at Shannon this year, however, with an increase in some transatlantic services including those to JFK New York and Philadelphia.
