Officials for Shannon Airport say they’re still hoping to secure additional flights for this summer’s tourist season.

It follows Ryanair’s announcement that it’s to provide a service between Shannon and Alicante this summer, a flight it last operated in 2010.
Chicago, Philadelphia, Faro and Glasgow are also returning to Shannon’s list of destinations this year, and management say they’re continuing negotiations to secure more routes in the future.
Chairperson of the Shannon Airport Authority Rose Hynes has told Clare FM this may even include more flights for this summer.
