The Shannon Airport Group has been shortlisted for two prestigious Green Awards.
The awards, which attracted a record-breaking 300 applicants this year, are considered one of the premier platforms for celebrating organisations leading the way in environmental innovation, sustainable business practices and climate action.
The Shannon Airport Group has been listed among the nominees for the Green Public Sector Organisation of the Year and Green Large Organisation of the Year awards, with the winners to be announced at a Gala Awards ceremony in Dublin on February 24th.
The group says the double nomination highlights its ongoing commitment to embedding sustainability at the heart of its strategy and day-to-day operations.
Welcoming today’s announcement, Sinead Murphy, Head of Sustainability at The Shannon Airport Group said: “We’re delighted to be shortlisted for two Green Awards this year.
“Over the past 12 months, we’ve advanced a range of initiatives to reduce carbon emissions, protect and enhance biodiversity, invest in renewable energy infrastructure and integrate circular economy principles, and it’s great to have this positive momentum continue into 2026.
“Embedding sustainability across all our operations – throughout the Group – is a real team effort, and I’d like to thank everyone who contributes to this work every day.
“We’re in great company among the other nominees in both categories and we look forward to the awards ceremony later this month,” Sinéad Murphy said.
