Shannon Airport Group Closely Monitoring Affect Of French Air Traffic Control Action

The boss of Ryanair is calling for European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to step down, if she won’t reform European air traffic control rules.

It comes as 14 flights into and out of Dublin Airport have been cancelled so far today, largely due to the French Air Traffic Control strikes and ground strikes in Finland.

The Shannon Airport Group says while no flights at the Midwest facility are currently affected, it’s continuing to monitor the situation closely and is advising passengers travelling to, or through mainland Europe today, to check directly with their airline for updates on their flight status.

Shannon’s inbound and outbound Porto services were cancelled last night, and several other flights experienced delays.

Ryanair wants overflights protected and CEO Michael O’Leary says the disruption undermines EU values.
