A spokesperson for Shannon Airport has defended its security levels following a breach of the perimeter fence at the weekend.

Concerns have been raised over how the two anti war protesters managed to get as far as the main runway before their were apprehended by airport police on Sunday
However in a statement to Clare FM – A Shannon Airport Spokesperson stated that security levels at Clare’s International airport are and will continue to be of the highest international airport standards.
They added that as the incident in question is under investigation by Gardaí and Shannon Airport they will be making no further comment.
