Shannon Airport has broken another Irish record with the airlifting of Irish thoroughbreds to China.
A specialized Beoing 747 with professional flying grooms and vet carried 76 race horses to Beijing in an operation that cost 3 million euro.
The horses were bought by self-made billionaire Zhang Yuesheng. While the Chinese thoroughbred market is dominated by Australia and New Zealand, the Irish Bloodstock Agency BBA is hoping that it's a sign of things to come.
