Part of the money raised from the sale of Aer Lingus is being invested in Shannon Airport.

The Airport has secured a 10 million euro loan from the state, as it looks to upgrade its runway.

Works on the 15 million euro project are taking place in the coming months.

Details of the loan were first reported by The Irish Times, who say that neither Shannon Group nor the State’s Irish Strategic Investment Fund responded to a request for comment.
