A global award for Shannon airport is being described as vindication of government policy for Clare’s International Airport.
Shannon received the top accolade for an airport of its size at The World Routes Awards in the US this week.
The award recognizes the success of the airport’s marketing programme since it’s separation from the DAA and its success in kick-starting the recovery in passenger numbers.
Clare Labour Deputy Michael McNamara says there’s no doubt now that the government made the right move regarding Shannon’s independence.
