A fire sensor at one of the building’s doors was accidentally triggered at around 7.40 and the airport’s fire evacuation plan was put into place.

However the all clear was given around 30 minutes later and there were no delays to morning flights.

An investigation into the incident is underway and management have apologised for the disruption to passenger.

Head of Operations Niall Maloney says such incidents can be challenging but necessary when alarms activate.
