A special event to mark 35 years of one of Clare’s largest employers has so far raised over €150,000 for five local charities.
Shannon Aerospace, which is now owned by Atlantic Aviation, has employed over 3,000 people since Lufthansa and Swissair were convinced to open an aircraft maintenance facility here in 1990.
To mark the anniversary, a committee of past and present employees endeavoured to raise funds for Milford Hospice, Bunratty Search and Rescue, Limerick Suicide Watch, Pieta House and the Shannon Aviation Museum.
Committee member Des Egan says it’s all about giving back.
