Extreme Red Weather Alert Issued For Clare

An extreme status red weather warning for wind has been issued for Clare. 

The notice comes into effect 3am on Friday morning and will remain in place until 10am.

Met Eireann is warning of danger to life, extremely dangerous travelling conditions,
wave overtopping, coastal flooding, fallen trees, widespread power outages and structural damage.

The National Forecaster is predicting that gusts exceeding 130KM/H will batter the county.

The red weather alert only applies to Clare, Cork and Kerry.

A concurrent status orange warning will remain in place until 5pm Friday.
