Seven IDA Visits In Clare So Far This Year

Seven companies have made IDA-sponsored site visits to Clare so far this year, with a view to investing here.

After the head of the organisation said it was delivering an “extraordinarily strong” performance here, the figures suggest the number of visits by investors could fall this year.


Three companies, who have been identifed by the IDA as potential investors in Ireland, visited Clare between April and June.

It brings the total number of site visits to Clare in the first half of this year to seven.

Seven counties have higher totals – Dublin alone accounted for 141 visits, or 46% of the overall total.

And the figures also show a drop-off in the number of these site visits in Clare – there were 22 in all of last year, and 18 throughout 2016.

Speaking to Clare FM in recent days, head of the IDA Martin Shanahan said the agency was performing ahead of target in delivering investments to regional locations such as the MidWest.
