Seven victims of domestic violence in Clare have availed of enhanced access to rent supplement since the measure was introduced.
Figures released to the Oireachtas reveal they’re among 153 victims to have availed of the scheme since it was implemented at the onset of the pandemic.

The initiative, which has now been made permanent by the Department of Social Protection, allows victims to access rent supplement for three months to ensure they’re not prevented from leaving their home due to costs.
Two people who have been subject to domestic violence are still availing of the scheme in Clare.
