“We’re Serving The Life Sentence… His Release Would Kill Us All” Says Brother Of Clare Murder Victim

The brother of a West Clare murder victim says his family are the ones that are “serving the life sentence”, while his sister’s murderer gets to walk free.

Ann Walsh was 23 when she was strangled by her former boyfriend in the grounds of the local Church in Kilrush on August 24th, 2005.

Having confessed to her murder, Raymond Donovan was charged and subsequently found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.

17 years on, he’ll soon be eligable for parole and his release could see him back on the streets of Kilrush where Ann’s family lives.

Ann’s murder features in a TV documentary airing on TG4 tonight and her brother Stephen has told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that her murderer a monster of a man that deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison.
